trackbib was originally created in 2014 (trackbib v1) to create customized paper maps that are perfectly tailored for your next adventure. The aim was to be able to concentrate on the track at all times without distraction and to be able to reduce your luggage to the bare minimum. Back then, you usually only had one GPS device with you. Over time, however, technology has continuously developed and today you often carry a backup GPS device with you, which makes the need for paper maps less important.
As technology advanced, also trackbib developed and migrated from a Java EE (JEE) application to a modern single-page application (SPA). This also shifted trackbib's focus to a platform for outdoor enthusiasts to analyze their training activities, share selected experiences, discover new tracks, and connect with like-minded people. Our platform enables privacy-aware recording and analysis of GPS activities. You decide when and which of your GPS recordings are shared publicly. Thereby you always retain control over your data and you can delete it at any time. For highest data protection requirements, our platform can even be self-hosted in a a dedicated environment.
Discover the variety of tracks from our community and get inspired for your next adventure. From scenic hikes to challenging mountain bike trails, there is something for everyone. Join our community and share your favorite adventures with others.
